'Legends Of Tomorrow' Spoilers: Episode To Pay Homage To Epic Comic Lore Through Stephen Amell
Only two "Legends of Tomorrow" episodes have been aired so far but latest spoilers will make fans want to fast forward to the future.
It was previously reported that Stephen Amell has been cast in the new CW show as the older version of his character in his own series "Arrow." That's not all of it though.
He will appear sporting a look that many Green Arrow fans loved in the comics. Green Arrow in LoT has a goatee and with only one arm - his famous storyline in the great comic book, "The Dark Knight Returns."
"Every once and a while, we do an episode where the 10-year-old me has to pinch himself," the "Legends of Tomorrow" spoilers dished by executive producer Marc Guggenheim to Comicbook.com said.
"We're not only introducing our version of Connor Hawke to our universe, we're going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen, and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow."
The version of Oliver Queen is quite similar to the one who helped Batman beat Superman.
"As an added bonus to comic-book fans, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the character's appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns. We think this episode features some of the coolest things we've ever done."
"Legends of Tomorrow" cast members play characters who already appeared in "Arrow" and when this episode airs, comics fans will most probably feel nostalgic seeing the future Oliver Queen.
Stephen Amell, who is known to be very active in social media, viewed a fan art featuring his character's 2046 version, and he has this to say.
The next "Legends of Tomorrow" episode is called "Blood Ties."
The synopsis reads, "Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides to weaken Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) by going after his financial assets. Rip and Sara (Caity Lotz) infiltrate Savage's bank, but are discovered by his men. Meanwhile, Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) talk Jax (Franz Drameh) into taking the jump ship back to Central City so they can steal a valuable emerald. Professor Stein (Victor Garber) guides Ray (Brandon Routh) on a dangerous mission."
The next episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" will air on Feb. 4. Watch out for more spoilers here.
