‘Power Rangers’ Movie Spoilers : Movie Release Date Changed ; Characters Set To More Futuristic Appeal ?

The upcoming movie "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" has been rumored to reinvent classic characters like Zordon, Rita Repulsa, Alpha, and the mighty Megazord. New reports suggest that it was pushed back to March 24, 2017.

Concept artists Alex Ruiz and Gregory Semkow helped Dean Israelite, director of the anticipated movie, to visualize more adult versions of the Power Rangers.

The concept art was an image Alpha, the assistant robot is shown as a futuristic and highly advanced robot. Alpha in the concept art looked more like a cyborg or an android, than a humorous robot. On the other hand, Zordon was far from the human-faced character in the original series.

According to Techtimes, Ruiz got their motivation from the movie trailer.

"The trailer lit the fire under many asses to get a full on Hollywood film made," he said. Though the artworks caught a lot of attention, the version of the film the pair worked on was rejected.

"Unfortunately our guy didn't get it, it went to another director," Ruiz added. "Such is the nature of the film business. And if you want to be a concept artist, you have to accept that most of what you work on might never be seen and/or made."

Due to the upcoming release of "The Dark Tower," Paramount's "Friday the 13th," Warner Bros.' "Geostorm" and Paramount's "Monster Trucks," the Power Rangers will return in a different time in order to avoid a competitive weekend, Business Standard reported.

Though there were changes on the release date of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," many fans from all ages are excited to see what the new movie has to offer. Stay tuned for more updates on its cast, release date, and story here.
