'Sherlock' Season 4 Release Date Speculated For 2016 As Shooting Schedule Confirmed!
Steven Moffat confirmed that the shooting of the popular TV series "Sherlock" Season 4 will begin in April 2016, Yibada reports.
As fans have been waiting seriously for updates regarding "Sherlock" Season 4's release date, it is also observed that it's been already a year since the last season ended, dating on February 2014. Rumors have been circulating earlier last month that the show might get cancelled. However, actor and executive producer Mark Gatiss, playing the role of Mycroft in the series, have dispelled these rumors to rest, stating that the next season has a darker plot than the previous ones.
It is also speculated the main character himself may make an appearance in another popular TV show, "Dr. Who," however Steven Moffat denied the rumors regarding the possible crossover of the two shows. The would-be mini-crossover of these two shows is surely every fan's ultimate dream, but the show runner is not convinced with the idea.
Moffat explained that the meeting of the two protagonists of the shows will make a serious confusion on Sherlock's character. The sole reason is that Sherlock have to travel in time to meet Dr. Who, which will rise into a lot of confusion for Sherlock fans. However, he brought a hint of hope for everyone expecting for the Sherlock Season 4 release date as he revealed that Gatiss will start writing the scripts real soon, Ecumenical News added.
He also added that the two protagonists are more than enough to run their own successful shows and no one needs the other to improve the storyline. Looking back on last year's Christmas special, Moffat confessed that female characters were a bit hard to translate to the Victorian-set episode.
While there are no updates yet for "Sherlock" Season 4 release date, is confirmed to return on the small screen sometime in fall of 2016.
