Netflix announced that "House of Cards" has been renewed for another season. However, the show will continue without the series' creator Beau Willimon.

"Prior to its fourth-season premiere, Netflix and (producers) Media Rights Capital are thrilled to announce that House of Cards will return for a fifth season in 2017. Concurrent with the renewal, creator and showrunner Beau Willimon is departing the critically acclaimed series," Netflix said in a statement, according to Business Standards.

"Netflix and MRC owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Beau Willimon for his strong narrative vision for House of Cards over the show's first four seasons."

Beau Willimon, on the other hand, thank his fellow showrunners and wished continued success for Netflix's "House of Cards."

While de did not elaborate on the reason behind his departure, he simply said he'll be moving to "new endeavors," The Guardian  reported.

"After five years and four seasons, it's time for me to move on to new endeavours, but I'm supremely proud of what we've built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team," Willimon said.

Netflix is yet to announce Beau Willimon's replacement in "House of Cards." But according to reports, executive director David Fincher has the potential to take on the role.

However, that possibility is still up in the air as previous reports have claimed that "House of Cards" will see another departure. The personality identified, unfortunately, was no other than series' director David Fincher.

According to Enstarz, David Fincher is currently working on a new project with Charlize Theron. With that being said, speculations arise that his departure from the series is imminent.

Per the rumor mill, the executive director might withdraw his involvement on the series as he might shift his focus on the said project.

"House of Cards" returns on Netflix on March 4 with the entire season 4 available on its premiere. Stay tuned for the more updates.
