'Arrow' Season 4, Episode 11 Recap: How [Spoiler]'s Death Affects 'The Flash'?
The mid-season premiere of "Arrow" season 5 backed off from killing a major character. However, the latest episode took the life of one recurring character in just a snap.
[Spoiler alert]
A.R.G.U.S. agent Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) met her match in "Arrow" season 4, episode 11 "A.W.O.L." during a run-in with a dangerous organization called Shadowspire. Waller only appeared from time to time in the show, but her death has a major impact on the Arrowverse.
It is not just "Arrow" where her death will resonate, it will extend to its sister series "The Flash."
"Both of those elements played into why he felt so strongly that his wife shouldn't be involved with A.R.G.U.S.," David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle, told Comicbook.com when asked for "Arrow" season 4 spoilers involving Amanda's death.
"Both the inherent danger, and what he felt about Amanda. Now that Amanda's gone, there's a choice that Lyla makes or has to make about her involvement with A.R.G.U.S. We do see a future where she's involved, and by virtue of her involvement, her husband is involved. So yeah, there's trouble on the horizon with that. Because it does get more involved and it does get."
Previous "Arrow" season 4 spoilers revealed that John Diggle, whose story was the main topic of the latest episode, will travel to Barry Allen's Central City to catch a criminal. This is where A.R.G.U.S. comes in.
"Some of that by the way will be answered in The Flash," Ramsey said. "That's what's so great about the way they're putting this together, is that some of your questions will be answered in The Flash."
"In terms of why are we there, together with A.R.G.U.S., and Diggle's involved, what's that about? I think some of these great questions about how it will affect Team Arrow will be answered in The Flash, which is a great way of making sure people are watching both shows."
The next "Arrow" season 4 episode is called "Unchained" and will air on Feb. 3. Watch out for more spoilers when they come along.
