Will Charlie Hunnam Be Replaced By Brad Pitt As Lead Of ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Prequel?
Fans of the show would agree that Charlie Hunnam helped make "Sons Of Anarchy" one of the best TV shows of this era.
Will show creator Kurt Sutter bring him back for the rumored spinoff?
According to Youth Health Magazine, there's little chance for the "Crimson Peak" star to return as Jax Teller in the upcoming project. It's not because of any hard feelings, though.
Sutter revealed to E! News that the new show's plot will focus mainly on the "First Nine" members of the highly-rated American crime drama. The time frame will be set in the 1960s, making it dodgy for Hunnam to appear as Jax Teller since he wouldn't have been born at that time.
"So, we can see the roots of the club and I see it as a different show... I don't think it will be as pulpy," he said. "I feel it will be a little more, I don't want to say a historical show, but it takes place in the '60s and it's Vietnam, so there's a lot of iconic events happening around it that influence John Teller."
Nevertheless, the executive producer is reportedly still in the process of setting the spinoff up. No direct statement has been issued about Charlie Hunnam's involvement in the "Sons Of Anarchy" prequel.
"My intent is, over the hiatus I'll initiate a script for the pilot and take it from there," he was quoted by Design & Trend as saying.
As it is, it would be more productive, not to mention more congruent to the timeline, if the crew cast someone else as lead.
Lawyer Herald reported that the new actor would be Hollywood A-list Brad Pitt. Charlie Hunnam himself shared the "Sons Of Anarchy" prequel report in a past interview with Men's Journal.
"Kurt is trying to get [the prequel] going," he told the magazine. "Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad? Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?"
It seems that whether the British actor will be joining the spinoff or not, fans can somehow expect it as something to definitely look forward to.
