Singer-Actor Lee Seung Gi To Release Digital Single ‘I’m Joining The Military’ On The Day Of Enlistment
Hook Entertainment released the enlistment date of Korean singer-actor Lee Seung Gi. The agency, in a press release Thursday, said Lee is also set to release a digital single on the day of his enlistment, which is Feb. 1, Korea Joongang Daily noted Friday.
"Lee will enlist in the Army next month. And he will also release a digital single on the same day of his enlistment," Hook Entertainment said in a dispatch.
The company added that Lee's digital single is titled "I'm Joining the Military."
Meanwhile, Lee said he tried to convey his feelings through the song.
"I've been preparing for this day. I'd like to say goodbye [to fans] in person but I can't. So I tried to express my feelings through this song," he said in a press release.
"This is a personal story of mine but I hope other people who will soon join the military, and their families and friends could relate to this song, too. I'll come back as a real man," Lee added.
The 29-year-old singer and actor also posted about his upcoming enlistment on his social media account, along with a photo of his digital single, The Chosunilbo reported Friday.
Lee captioned the post, "I'm really thankful for the love and support I have received. I will be more of a man when I return from 21 months of compulsory military service."
Lee debuted as a singer in 2004 at the age of 17. His debut song was titled "Because You're My Girl" and was included in his "The Dream Of A Moth" album that became popular in South Korea. The song earned him the "Best Newcomer" award from several music awards including Mnet KM Music Festival and Seoul Music Awards.
He started his acting career in 2006 for a weekend drama called "The Infamous Chill Sisters." Since then, he was offered to play lead roles in several television dramas. Aside from that, Lee also appeared in the movie "Love Forecast" in 2015.
