According to news, there are strong indications hinting that Julianna Margulies is leaving "The Good Wife" after the show's current season.

While the actress has yet to officially confirm the news claiming that she is leaving the series, there is allegedly certain evidence that gives credence to the rumors.

During a speech honoring the creators of "The Good Wife," Robert King and Michelle King, Juliana Margulies cracked a joke claiming that she only attended the Artios Awards ceremony because she needs a new job soon.

"[The Kings] think I'm here for them, but I'm unemployed come April, and I think you [casting directors] haven't seen me in a while, at least not in person, so I thought I should show up," she said, according to a report from Vulture.

The King husband-and-wife tandem has already confirmed that they are leaving "The Good Wife" at the end of the current season. Despite this, CBS is still working on extending the show for another season.

"The bottom line is CBS is trying to make deals for an eighth season, so we would be there in a supervisory role, but the storytelling we have will finish in the seventh year," Robert King told TVLine.

On the other hand, the actress' contract with the show is also expiring at the end of the season. Should she decide not to renew, analysts are considering it as the final nail in the show's coffin.

Juliana Margulies plays the iconic Alicia Florrick in "The Good Wife."

Several reports claim that contract negotiations between "The Good Wife" casts and the network had been stagnant for a while. Analysts are expecting a final decision to surface within the next few weeks.

But fans of "The Good Wife" are still expecting the show to have the succeeding season. Fans believe that the upcoming season, should there be any, will be a proper sendoff for a well-beloved series.
