The latest spoilers for the "Spawn" movie reboot tease that the film will be centered on a horror-themed storyline.

Todd McFarlane, the creator of the superhero character Spawn, revealed that he has thought of giving a new angle to the storyline of the movie reboot.

"It is going to be more of a horror movie and a thriller movie, not a superhero one," McFarlane revealed as reported by Franchise Herald. "I have got so many people phoning now that I've got to get it done."

Additional spoilers claim that McFarlane said that the upcoming "Spawn" movie is going to be "R-rated." Todd also expressed that he wanted to showcase more villainous and horror stuff and still keep the story arc linked to the comic book story.

"Not so much that I tell people... I don't want R to do excessive violence or nude people or any of that," the creator said in a report by Comic Book. "It's just that some of the content, which is sort of street thug and police officers, you're getting into some dark and gritty 2 AM bad guy stuff."

Moving on, he had earlier given an update on the script of the upcoming movie reboot. The creator revealed that he has written around 165 pages for the new story of the film. He also expressed his desire to cut short the story has he finds it bit long, Comic Book Resources reported.

Further spoilers teased that Todd McFarlane claimed that the reboot will not revolve around the superhero character as depicted in the animated series.

Furthermore, McFarlane also revealed the movie reboot details during The Gate Fan Expo, where he said that he will finish the project as early as he can. He also claimed that the movie is not going to be a massive budget and will consist of few special effects.

There is still no official news on the "Spawn" movie reboot release date or cast, aside from the creator's revelation of the planned project's storyline.
