Zoolander 2 news reported that lead star Ben Stiller is on the cover of the latest issue of Vogue. According to a report from Page Six, the comedian is featured on the iconic style magazine's February 2016 issue alongside co-star Penelope Cruz.

The images, which were shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, showed the two movie stars in extravagant designer outfits similar to the ones they wear on the highly anticipated comedy sequel.

In the feature story, Penelope Cruz shared how it was somewhat hard for her to keep a straight face while shooting alongside Ben Stiller.

"He'd talk to me dressed in these absurd outfits, and that hair," she shared about Ben Stiller, who plays the lead role of supermodel Derek Zoolander. "I couldn't stop laughing in his face."

Prior to the lead stars' Vogue cover feature, "Zoolander 2" has been making news because of complaints raised by LGBT advocates. Entertainment Weekly reported how certain individuals got offended by the gender-ambiguous character of Benedict Cumberbatch, saying it promotes transphobia.

A petition to boycott the movie also went viral late last year. "In the Zoolander 2 trailer, an androgynous character played by Benedict Cumberbatch is asked by Zoolander and Hansel if he is a 'male or female model,' and if they 'have a hot dog or a bun,'" the petition detailed.

"Additionally, Cumberbatch's character is clearly portrayed as an over-the-top, cartoonish mockery of androgyne/trans/non-binary individuals."

"This is the modern equivalent of using blackface to represent a minority," the petitioner added.

In a recent interview featured by People, co-writer Justin Theroux spoke up about "Zoolander 2" news reports and shut down the transphobic accusations.

"I don't even know what to make of it, because it hurts my feelings in a way," Justin Theroux said. "I take great care of the jokes I write, and the umbrage being taken is out of the context of the scene."

"I wish people would see the movie first," he continued, adding to the news about "Zoolander 2."
