Olivia Culpo, Tim Tebow Breakup Not Real Because They Never Dated? Model Not A ‘Bad Girl’
It was a short-lived romance but Olivia Culpo and Tim Tebow's supposed breakup made headlines last year, mostly because of the alleged reason behind the split.
However, TMZ recently revealed that there wasn't ever a breakup because they never dated in the first place.
According to several news outlets last November, the former Miss Universe reportedly broke things off with the NFL player because he refused to break his abstinence vow for her.
"He was really into her," a source reportedly told the New York Daily News. "He was sending her love letters and cute notes and professing his love for her... She had to break up with him because she just couldn't handle it. He still hits her up, but she just can't deal with the sex thing. He's pretty adamant about it, I guess."
Olivia Culpo and Tim Tebow's supposed breakup earned both parties mocking comments from netizens. The football star was made fun of for being headstrong in his decision to keep himself celibate until marriage while the 23-year-old model was called "sl*t" and a "bad girl" for trying to make Tebow forget his vow.
TMZ reported, however, that nothing "one-on-one" went on with Culpo and Tebow's relationship. They just reportedly met in a church once and hung out together with mutual friends but they never went beyond "the rumor stage."
"Our sources say Tim did show interest in Olivia, and they hung out a few times WITH mutual friends ... but never had a one-on-one date," the site further stated.
Meanwhile, Daily Orange spoke out about the negative comments that Olivia Culpo and Tim Tebow's rumored breakup generated.
The site's writer Elaina Crockett pointed out that Tebow didn't have to be "overtly sexual" because he's famous and that his beliefs should be respected.
She also noted that calling Nick Jonas' ex-girlfriend a "bad girl" was extremely sexist and that people should stop "treating her as if her entire existence weighs on her level of attractiveness."
