Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox Reunion Not Happening Amidst Dating Rumors? Producer Says 'Friends' Will 'Never' Return

While it has always been a hopes up for a Friends reunion, things have unfortunately turned out the other way around after show's co-producer Marta Kauffman said "never" to a Friends reunion movie.

"For me, why go back to that territory again?" said the 59-year old Kauffman, as quoted in US Weekly. "That was about a certain time in your life, and I had just left the Friends time of my life. This is about the time of my life I'm looking toward. I will say there will never be a Friends reunion movie."

Prior to Kauffman's statement, there have been several rumors making rounds in the headlines which claimed that a reunion is said to be taking place on Jimmy Burrows' tribute.

Moreover, it was also speculated that Matthew Perry would not be joining the special Friends episode, according to Spinoff, which will be gathering stars David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and Courteney Cox.

"I wish I could say it was going to be a reunion." said Schwimmer. "Sure I'm sad, but I'm happy for him, he's doing a play in London and it's thrilling. I did one there and it was fantastic."

Though it was already confirmed that Perry won't be able to make it on the given date, it seems like the fans want to confirm something out of the box aside from the most talked about Friends reunion.

Rumor has it that Perry and Courteney are dating, with some claims adding that the two are already on the verge of tying the knot.

While the claims have not been confirmed yet and none of them has commented on the issue, fans are allegedly still curious about the reaction of the cast towards the dating rumors surrounding Perry and Courteney.

David Schwimmer on the other hand, said that the upcoming gathering is not a Friends reunion but an NBC tribute to the 75-year old television director Jimmy Burrows, who has compiled over 50 shows including Cheers.

"There's no Friends reunion. It's a tribute to Jimmy Burrows who we love and I'm just thrilled to be a part of it." said Schwimmer. "As many of us who can be there will be there and the casts of so many shows are going to try to be there."

He added, "This man is an incredible director who helped define situation comedy in this country in the last 40 years so I love him and I'm excited to be there."

The special tribute for James Burrows will be filmed this month and has been scheduled for airing on February 21, Sunday at 9 PM on NBC.
