Adam Driver's SNL Monologue 'Too Awesome;' 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Star Goes Viral!
Fans of SNL (Saturday Night Live) were delighted to know that it's back from a holiday break, moreso that Adam Driver served as host for the first time on the show.
According to Vulture, the said show was pushed to a later time to make for the National Football League's (NFL) Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals match. In a report by Rolling Stone, Driver's energy on set was contagious, so much so that he was game to do anything that was thrown at him.
In the said episode, there were three sketches that featured the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" star. The first one was their take on "Undercover Boss" to which they titled "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base," as it would only be fitting to do a "Star Wars" inspired skit.
In the almost five-minute long stretch, the target on the skit was Kylo Ren's self-loathing ways as he goes around as Matt, the radar technician, having a firsthand experience on what it feels like to work at Starkiller Base. Many thought that Adam Driver did an amazing and hilarious job in the said SNL skit as well as the "Star Wars" monologue.
With the second skit, entitled "America's Funniest Cats," Rolling Stone said that the brand new concept of the sketch got it already on its first attempt.
"An initially lame joke about the host's name concealed the devastatingly simple but well-executed premise," wrote Ryan McGee.
The last of Adam Driver's monologues on SNL was the Golden Globes, to which some considered it to be one of the "Best of SNL" sketch list. In it, the actor played Vanessa Bayer's husband who just won their first Golden Globe Award.
