Anne Hathaway And Jennifer Lawrence Feud Over? Latter Dubbed Rude At The Golden Globes!
Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence's rumored feud has been making headlines recently as the "Les Miserables" actress defended the "Hunger Games" actress, after the latter drew criticisms over a dryly-delivered joke to a member of the foreign press during the recently concluded Golden Globes 2016.
Back in 2013, Hathaway was supposed to play the role that got Lawrence an Oscar in "Silver Linings Playbook," and although everything turned out fine that year since the former also won an Oscar for "Les Miserables," rumors of a feud still surfaced.
A few days ago, however, the Anne Hathaway completely squashed the feud rumors when she defended Jennifer Lawrence after being criticized for being "rude" to a reporter.
"It's become pretty clear that the Jennifer Lawrence 'scolding' was taken out of context and that she was dryly joking with a journalist who was indeed using his phone to take photos of her," she wrote on Facebook.
"Let's not continue the sad but common practice of building people - especially women - up just to viciously tear them down when we perceive them to have misstepped," the 33-year-old actress added.
As one can remembers, J-Law scolded a reporter for looking at his phone while interviewing her.
"You can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro," she told the reporter during the press conference after the awards show. "You can't do that. You gotta live in the now."
When the reporter laughed it off and was about to continue asking her how she saw herself for the Oscars, Lawrence cut him off.
"We're at the Golden Globes. If you put your phone down, you'd know that," Lawrence said.
The internet went on full J-Law hate after the incident, calling the "Hunger Games" actress "rude," "entitled" and a "diva." Some believed the foreign press reporter was simply reading a question off his phone with the help of a translator.
However, a witness during the said press conference said the reporter was taking pictures of the actress while talking to her.
"I was in the press room w/ Jennifer Lawrence," Chris Trondsen wrote on Twitter. "She did NOT bully that reporter. He was not reading questions off of his phone."
"The reporter was asking a question but either filming or taking pictures off of his phone while talking to Jennifer Lawrence," he added. "Plus everyone in the press room was laughing. It was light hearted."
Since the news broke out, the alleged feud between Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway has been disproven.
