2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: Boasts Fuel Economy But Isn’t The Best Choice Among Compact SUVs

The 2016 Toyota Rav4 is the newest addition to Toyota's Hybrid cars family that brings fuel economy to its owners.

With the emerging market of compact SUVs, the all new Rav4 is one of the decent choices. Plus, it's a Hybrid car with the likes of Mazda CX05 and Ford Kuga, Auto Express reported.

According to PR News Wire, the Rav4 2016 is suited for car owners who consider high fuel economy that goes along with utility, style, versatility and capability.

The website added that the 2016 Toyota Rav4 fuel economy is "impressive." Reportedly, it has EPA ratings of 34 mpg city / 31 mpg highway / 33 mpg combined for the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid.

Though the Rav4 Hybrid boasts extraordinary figures on its ratings, it only beats the gas-powered Rav4 by 10 mpg in the city, Jacksonville  reported.

Underneath, Toyota replaced the 2.0-lter to a 2.2-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Meawhile, the combined system produces a total of 194 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque.

Additioonallyy, the 2016 Rav4 Hybrid is one of the fastest 4x4 car with its engine that can accelerate from zero to 60mph.

As for its safety features, like the Toyota Prius 2016 it offers Toyota Safety Sense, a new multi-feature advanced safety package anchored by automatic pre-collision braking. TSS bundles cutting edge safety technologies including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection; Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist; Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control; and Automatic High Beams.

While the 2016 Toyota Rav4 is deemed to be impressive, it's interior allegedly doesn't feel luxurious at all.

Telegraph  noted that it "feels too cheap and nasty inside, and not very pleasant to drive." It also added, "space and comfort" are strong points of the vehicle. However, there are better compact crossover that offers a better driving experience.

The 2016 RAV4 XLE Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid Limited starts at $28,370 and $33,610 respectively.
