Fans React To Ariel Winter Shutting Down Nash Grier For Homophobic and Misogynistic Posts
Ariel Winter is apparently annoyed that Nash Grier is famous for all the wrong reasons.
The "Modern Family" star recently shut down the Vine star on Twitter for his past homophobic videos and it seems that several Twitter users agree with her opinion.
MTV News, in particular, is "cheering" for the 17-year-old actress for reportedly giving Grier "the education he so desperately needs."
It all started when the hashtag #FavNashVid started trending on Twitter and Winter, who had always been vocal about her opinions, responded with an online lashing.
"#FavNashVid that one time when he was just super homophobic and ignorant? #whydoyouhavefans," she pointed out, which gained attention from several followers of both celebrities.
She didn't stop there. Posting a longer essay on Instagram, pointing out that Grier had been posting offensive videos and half-hearted apologies over the years.
"Your homophobic video that you made when you were 14 was not the only time you spouted homophobic slurs," Ariel Winter addressed Nash Grier, pointing out that he continued with the videos even after he deleted the clip in question. "I remember seeing this stuff before I was 14. When we were 14, teenagers were committing suicide from comments like yours."
She also called him out for the underlying sexism and racism in his past videos. The Instagram photo already gained over 32 thousand likes and more than 3,000 comments supporting her message.
"You made a fan out of me for this!" One commenter said while others noted she "slayed" with her response.
"Stinks that these little boys think they've done something with their life from untalented 6 second videos other than spread ignorance," another fan wrote. "So sorry these little boys are struggling to understand compassion and fact checking. Keep fighting on the right side of history."
Ariel Winter and Nash Grier's feud continued when the latter responded a day later, asking the TV star to talk through private messages. Her reply was a simple, "lol I'm good."
