One Direction's "Made in the AM" could be the band's last album, according to rumors. Us Weekly reported that the hit pop group's current break has become permanent, making it seem like former member Zayn Malik was right about first leaving them months ago.

The British act announced last October 2015 that they would go on an indefinite hiatus, but assured fans worldwide that they would still come back. However, insiders have revealed that remaining members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have decided not to renew their contract.

"The 1D thing just ran its course," said an insider. "They'll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers."

Sources also detailed the future plans of the phenomenal boy band, who shot to stardom after being joining "X-Factor."

"Harry is launching a career in acting and singing," a source said about the band's frontman. "[While] Liam [Payne] is really interested in songwriting and production."

Louis Tomlinson is reportedly focusing on becoming a "hands-on dad" with his pregnant girlfriend, Briana Jungwirth.

A music video for a song from One Direction's latest album "Made in the AM" will supposedly be the boys' parting gift to their devoted fans.

Rumors about the group's permanent split came after former member Zayn Malik seemingly dissed his former colleagues.

In an interview with Billboard, the group's former "bad boy" was asked if he bought his former group's latest album.

"I thought the first single was quite cool [and] I heard the second single," Zayn Malik said. "[But] I didn't buy the album."

The 23-year-old also dissed in a previous interview with Rolling Stone that their music is not "cool."

"That's not music I would listen to," Malik said about the group. "Would you listen to One Direction at a party with your girl? I wouldn't. To me, that's not an insult, that's me as a man."

"As much as I was in that band, and I loved everything that we did, that's not music that I would listen to," he added. "I want to make music that I think is cool sh*t. I don't think that's too much to ask for."

Regardless, hardcore One Direction fans are still supporting their favorite group by buying numerous "Made in the AM" albums to help the group's sales.
