'Daredevil' Season 2 Release Date & News: EP Spills On The Punisher
"Daredevil" season 2 release date is almost two months away, and fans are excited about Jon Bernthal's The Punisher when the Netflix TV series returns.
The gun wielding mercenary was confirmed as new character in "Daredevil" last June and fans are raving about how perfect the former "The Walking Dead" star is for the role.
Now, it seems like fans would not be disappointed as executive producer Jeph Loeb said that the actor's take on The Punisher is unforgettable.
"Jon Bernthal has succeeded in his quest," he told Comicbook.com in an exclusive interview. "His Punisher is extraordinarily memorable, in every way."
Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, will still be the star of the show. However, there are other characters coming in when "Daredevil" season 2 release date comes and they will either dazzle or break the hearts of fans.
The most notable of these is Elodie Yung's Elektra, who, in the comics had romantic affairs with Daredevil.
"You will fall in love with Elodie Yung as Elektra, and she will break your heart, because that's what Elektra does to people," Loeb added.
"When you float Charlie Cox (as Matt Murdock/Daredevil) into that group, and Deborah Ann Woll, and Elvin Henson as Karen and Fggy, it just is an extraordinary cast. I just think people are going to be incredibly delighted by the story that Doug [Petrie] and Marco [Ramirez] and the writing staff came up with for this season."
Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada also gave his approval to Bernthal's take on the Punisher.
"I think we'd love to see something happen, but its way too soon to tell and we don't necessarily like to discuss which metrics we use to decide these things," he told IGN.
"But what I can tell you is that anyone who is a hardcore Punisher fan is going to be blown away and incredibly satisfied by Bernthal's take on Frank Castle. He is...its one of those cases where its the character from the pages come to life."
"Daredevil" season 2 release date is set this March 18.
