Gamers are now psyched into time-travel mode, as the release date of the "Life Is Strange" limited boxed edition is only just a few days away.

This comes a month after the worldwide release of the critically-acclaimed video game's demo version, which can be played on the Xbox One, PS4 and Steam, according to the "Life Is Strange" official blog.

The blog site said that the demo version contains the same gameplay content as the previously released Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 demos which can be downloaded at the site.

The site called on players to give the episodic graphic adventure game a go, saying, "you'll be happy to hear that we've today released a free demo for it on Steam so you or they can check it out before buying it."

For avid followers who would like to have a physical copy of the game, the "Life Is Strange" limited boxed edition can be pre-ordered,  with its release date scheduled on Jan. 19 in the U.S., and on Jan. 22 in the E.U.

In the meantime, PC Gamer has given "Life Is Strange" a thumbs-up, describing it as  a "pretty-good game" in its review last October.

The tech site, however, noted that the game featuring the female heroine Maxine Caulfield is "not as well-polished or paced as some of Telltale's games, like The Walking Dead, but 'powerfully affecting at its best.'"

The demo version runs for 20 minutes, which is enough to give players a feel of its gameplay.

The game's complete five-episode version can be purchased on Steam for $19 and £16.

Meanwhile, "Life Is Strange" has received an 83 percent rating at Metacritic.

"Must play! Its hands down one of the best games I have played," jammyj2o wrote on the site's message board. "The art style is unique...Buy the game!

"Life is Strange really cannot be described," LEVEL commented. "It is a totally unique EXPERIENCE, that in unbelievable way deceives and its magic can only be experienced firsthand."

With the positive reviews "Life Is Strange" has received, the boxed edition's release date is expected to pull in more players into the game.
