'Outlander' Season 2 Cast News: Show Close To Finding Actress Who Will Play Brianna?
Brianna is arguably the most important "Outlander" season 2 casting news on TV and according to the show's executive producer, Ronald Moore, they are about to find the actress who will play the pivotal role.
"We're very close to casting Brianna," Moore told Zap 2 It. "We might have found some candidates. I think we might be really closing in on somebody. I'm confident that we have a Brianna."
"Outlander" season 2 cast news for Brianna, who in the book is the second daughter of lead couple Jamie and Claire, first surfaced in August. However, up to now, the show is yet to sign-up someone.
Moore also shared details as to what point in the show Brianna will appear.
"You will get to see her [but] not until we get back to the 1968 story, which won't be for a while - towards the end of the season," he said.
A lot of names have been linked to Brianna.
An "Outlander" season 2 cast news in November lead to speculations that the show may have already found Brianna in actress Maeve Foley. She joined the series on September for a yet to be specified role and fans were quick to point out her red hair and age seem to fit Brianna's description.
However, co-executive producer Maril Davis refuted such theory.
"For those asking any & all REAL casting news will only come from official source like @Outlander_Starz or @sony or sometimes a producer," she wrote in a Twitter Q&A session with fans.
"Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner was also rumored to have joined "Outlander" season 2 cast as Brianna but she insisted she is staying with the HBO show.
"Somebody mentioned [the role] to me when I was on a red carpet somewhere, that I'd make a great Brianna, and I think the guy Sam retweeted it or something," Turner told EW back in November. "So people started talking like I was in it. I've never seen the show. I'm sure it's great, but I'm loyal to my one true love!"
