TAEYANG's fourth full album QUINTESSENCE delivers a convincing crossover argument on its front half — especially "Open Up" with The Kid LAROI — before the back half retreats into familiar R&B territory. A 7/10 return that justifies the nine-year wait without quite fulfilling it.
