Whitney Rose Divorce: RHOSLC Star Files After 16 Years
"Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star Whitney Rose filed for divorce from her husband, Justin, on Tuesday in Utah, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Page Six first reported the filing. The couple married in November 2009 and have been married for about 16 years.
Most of the file is private under Utah rules. TMZ reports that Rose submitted a parenting plan, and that the couple has two teenage children who are both minors. No other terms of the filing, including property or support, have been made public.
The filing follows months of reports about the marriage. Page Six reported on July 22 that the two were "living separate lives," citing unnamed sources who described years of financial strain. Neither Rose nor her husband commented on that report at the time. Rose has since acknowledged the separation herself. In an interview with USA Today, quoted by Entertainment Now, she said: "We're just enjoying the separation and figuring out next steps right now."
Money has been a recurring theme. Justin Rose lost his executive job in 2022, and Whitney Rose has talked on the show about the collapse of her skincare business, Wild Rose Beauty, which she regained full ownership of in September 2025. TMZ's report links the two events to strain on the marriage; the couple has not said so in a court filing that is public.
The timing is awkward for Bravo. Season 7 of "RHOSLC" premiered September 16 and airs Wednesdays, and the trailer showed Rose in an emotional conversation with Justin and then crying beside a bed. Rose told Bravo Insider before the season that her "personal story is probably gonna be the biggest shock this season." Season 7 began filming in late February, according to Page Six, months before the July report. TMZ says the filing is unlikely to be addressed on the current season, which is already shot, and expects it to become a storyline when production starts on season 8. That is TMZ's expectation, not a Bravo statement.
Rose's castmate Angie Katsanevas and her husband, Shawn Trujillo, were reported by Page Six in July to have separated after 27 years together, and the season 7 trailer shows that marriage under strain too. Neither Katsanevas nor Trujillo has publicly confirmed that report in the coverage reviewed.
Representatives for Whitney and Justin Rose have not issued a statement on the filing.
