BLACKPINK Lisa Drops 'Press Play' EP: Tracklist & Tarantino MV
Six songs, no guest artists, one stated subject: Thai roots. BLACKPINK's Lisa released her EP Press Play on Friday, October 23, through LLOUD and RCA Records, with a music video for "Tarantino" out the same day.
The tracklist is "SaWaDiKa," "V12," "Cobra," "Tarantino," "Cut U Off" and "Sweat." Hypebeast says the EP is built to unfold like a film, with tracks sequenced like scenes. In the "Tarantino" video, Lisa fights her way through a hotel to hand-deliver a note to a director, throwing punches at anyone in her way. Lead single "SaWaDiKa" came out September 4 with a video shot in Bangkok. Its title is the Thai word for hello, and Sony Music Japan credits the production to Thom Bridges and the duo Ojivolta.
Lisa laid out the idea for Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on September 16. "This EP is about my journey from my roots to where I am right now today," she said. "There's a lot of Thai elements in the songs, as well, in the EP. Every single song, they have their own character [and] their own vibe. When we combine it together, it's like a movie, so you just press play."
The rollout ran well past the music. On October 21, PlayStation released a commercial that previews "Tarantino" and promotes a limited-edition LISA x PlayStation DualSense controller in a Chroma Pearl finish that Lisa picked herself. The collection launches October 30, and Hypebeast lists the price at $85. InMusic reports the EP passed 600,000 Spotify pre-saves. A free two-day pop-up with IYK and LLOUD runs today and tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at 530 N Western Ave in Los Angeles. Entry requires an RSVP at forms.iyk.app/lisa.
Lisa has been a solo act on the US charts for a while. The "SaWaDiKa" video drew more than 70.8 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, and the song debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, per Hypebeast. Her 2025 debut album, Alter Ego, peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, according to InMusic. For US readers who know the BLACKPINK member from her acting debut in HBO's The White Lotus, Press Play is the release she built around her home country, Thailand.
Her Las Vegas residency, Viva La Lisa, opens November 13 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The first four dates sold out in under 10 minutes, and two more were added, according to Sony Music Japan and Hypebeast. Both describe it as a first for a K-pop artist.
