Run BTS 2.0 Release Date: New Episodes Oct. 6 and Oct. 11
BTS is bringing back its long-running variety show under a new name. "Run BTS 2.0" is scheduled to air new episodes on Oct. 6 and Oct. 11, according to the group's announcement, while the seven members are in the middle of a world tour.
A trailer posted Wednesday, Sept. 30, shows the members in Toronto. The clip includes a picnic in a park, a round of Korean "Red Light, Green Light," and a pickleball game. The show has always built its episodes around games and forfeits, and the trailer keeps to that format.
The series first ran for 155 episodes through 2021 and drew more than 140 million views, a figure reported by Korean outlets. It has returned in pieces since then. The most recent batch arrived in April after the group's "Arirang" album, when "BTS's TRIP" premiered April 23 at 9 p.m. KST on YouTube and Weverse.
The timing overlaps with the tour's South American leg. The group opened that stretch in Bogotá on Oct. 2 and 3, and the leg runs 14 shows across five cities through Oct. 31. That means the new episodes are landing while the members are on the road.
The "2.0" label is the notable change. In April the show returned under a specific episode title. The new name suggests the production is treating this run as a relaunch of the series rather than a one-off special, though the group has not said how many episodes beyond the first two are planned.
For viewers outside Korea, the details to watch are the release time and platform. Korean reports on the April batch listed YouTube and Weverse. The announcement for the Oct. 6 episode did not specify a platform in the reports reviewed for this article.
The two dates are five days apart. Whether the Oct. 11 episode continues the Toronto footage or moves to a new location has not been disclosed.
The show started as a casual web series and became one of the group's main tools for reaching fans between albums. Many longtime followers first learned the members' personalities through its running gags and recurring games, and that history is why a new batch of episodes draws attention even without a new album attached.
The Oct. 6 episode is due today. Viewers will find out then whether the Toronto trailer is the full theme of the new run or only a first taste.
