BOYNEXTDOOR released "Boom Boom Boom" at midnight Japan time Tuesday, the group's second Japanese digital single. Fans got an early preview Monday evening, when the six-member act performed it live on TBS's "CDTV Live! Live!" ahead of the release. KOZ Entertainment confirmed the single plan on August 3, three weeks after the group teased it during the final night of their "Knock On Vol. 2" tour in Busan.

The timing isn't incidental. "Boom Boom Boom" lands three days before BOYNEXTDOOR opens the Japan leg of that same tour on August 21 in Kanagawa, with stops following in Saga, Osaka, Miyagi, Nagano, and Chiba. It's the group's first new Japanese-language song in about a year, since 2025's "Boylife" single spawned "Count to Love" and a run of 13 sold-out shows across six Japanese cities.

BOYNEXTDOOR enters the release on real momentum in the market: their first full-length album, "Home," debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 and topped both Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking and Weekly Combined Album Ranking, earning gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan this past June. That album gets a repackaged rerelease in September, meaning "Boom Boom Boom" functions as a bridge between two releases rather than a standalone single - new enough to justify its own promotional run, timed closely enough to keep the group visible in Japan through the fall.

"Knock On Vol. 2" itself has been selling fast well before reaching Japan: the group's July Seoul shows sold out in presale across all three nights ahead of the tour's launch at KSPO Dome. The tour's full itinerary spans 24 cities and 35 shows across Asia and North America - BOYNEXTDOOR's first true world tour since debuting in 2023, and a considerably larger footprint than their first Japan run last year, which covered six cities and 13 dates under the "Knock On Vol. 1" banner.

With the Japan leg opening Friday and a "Home" repackage due next month, BOYNEXTDOOR is stacking three release moments inside of six weeks - a pace that suggests KOZ Entertainment is treating this stretch as the group's biggest push into the Japanese market to date.
