CORTIS Just Broke a Three-Year-Old K-Pop Chart Record. They Debuted Less Than a Year Ago.

"REDRED," the title track from CORTIS' second EP "GREENGREEN," topped Spotify's Daily Top Songs Korea chart for the 70th time on the July 12 chart, Big Hit Music said Tuesday. The milestone breaks a record for most No. 1 appearances by a K-pop group song that had stood for three years and four months.

The track first hit No. 1 on April 27. It crossed 50 appearances on June 20 - already a record for a boy group song at the time - and kept climbing from there without giving up the top spot for long stretches in between. On Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Korea chart, "REDRED" has now spent 11 consecutive weeks at No. 1, the longest run by any K-pop group song on that chart.

CORTIS - Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon and Keonho - debuted less than a year ago. The group has amassed 900 million cumulative Spotify streams across 13 released tracks and passed 12.67 million monthly listeners on the platform, a figure the label says ranks among the top three of any Korean boy group. All five members co-write and co-produce their own music, a positioning Big Hit Music has leaned into by branding the group "Young Creator Crew" - a nickname now shortened to "Young CC" that has become a viral catchphrase attached to the act.

The commercial numbers extend beyond streaming. "GREENGREEN" has logged eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, already surpassing the five-week run of CORTIS' debut EP. "REDRED" reached 100 million Spotify streams in 57 days - the fastest a K-pop boy group song has hit that mark among acts that debuted in the past five years - and "GREENGREEN" as a full EP crossed 200 million streams in 45 days, faster than the group's own first release managed.

The group is turning the momentum directly into a tour. "2026 CORTIS TOUR <PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN>," opening July 18-19 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, sold out both nights and the North American leg during presale; 14 shows total are scheduled across Seoul, Toronto, New York and Kanagawa through August and September. CORTIS will also make its Lollapalooza Chicago debut on July 31 and Aug. 1, the only K-pop boy group with a solo set at the festival this year.

For a group not yet a year into its career, the chart run raises an obvious question the industry hasn't had to answer often: what happens to a rookie act's momentum once the debut-year novelty wears off. CORTIS hasn't hit that wall yet - "REDRED" is still adding No. 1 days to its count each week the label checks.
