At 8:30 p.m. local time on Friday, BTS walked onto the stage at Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid - the first time the group has performed in Spain in their 13-year career. The show ran approximately two hours and fifteen minutes across 26 songs, opening with "Hooligan" and closing with "Into the Sun." Day 2 is tonight at the same venue.

The Madrid stop is the first date of the Arirang World Tour's European leg, which runs through early July before the tour moves to North America. The 68,000-capacity stadium was sold out on both nights. Secondary market tickets had been trading above €500 for floor positions in the weeks leading up to the shows.

The full Day 1 setlist, confirmed via setlist.fm: Hooligan, Aliens, Run BTS, They Don't Know 'Bout Us, Like Animals, FAKE LOVE, SWIM, Merry Go Round, VCR segment, 2.0, NORMAL, Not Today, FYA, FIRE, MIC Drop, Butter, Dynamite, IDOL, unit stages (vocal line: Dimple / rap line: Ddaeng), Come Over, One More Night, Into the Sun.

"Merry Go Round" made its European live debut Friday - the music video had dropped on June 19, giving Madrid fans just over a week with the track before hearing it in a stadium. "Come Over," released June 12 and premiered at the Busan Day 2 show the same night, received its first European performance. The unit stages - vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) performing "Dimple," rap line (RM, Suga, J-Hope) performing "Ddaeng" - have become a fixture of the Arirang shows since the Busan run.

The Madrid concerts are the group's first performances in Spain and the first in continental Europe since their 2022 Permission to Dance on Stage shows in Seoul and Las Vegas. The European leg continues in Brussels on July 1-2 at Stade Roi Baudouin, then moves to Amsterdam, Berlin, and London's Wembley Stadium before the North American leg begins in August.
