'NCIS' Alum Pauley Perrette's TV Comeback Confirmed; CBS Orders Full Series For Sitcom 'Broke'

Pauley Perrette may have left NCIS for a year now, but she remains loyal to CBS. The actress will return more often to the network lot after CBS has ordered a full series for Perrette's comeback small screen project.

Perrette's character in NCIS, Abby Sciuto, has become a household name for 15 years because of her wit and charm in the longest-running procedural drama. Now, the actress will be making another name in the world of the TV sitcom.

CBS has announced that they have ordered a full series for the new TV show, titled Broke. It follows the life of a wealthy trust fund baby who gets cut off by his father. This forces him and his wife to move with her estranged sister and forcing the siblings to reconnect.

Perrette's character, Jackie, is a bar manager. She is described as a tough, sharp-witted, and loving but struggling single mother whose life is changed when her estranged sister, Elizabeth (Natasha Leggero) comes back in her life with her husband Miguel (Jane the Virgin actor Jaime Camil).

At first, Jackie is not thrilled to see her snobby rich sister and brother-in-law on her doorstep. However, over time, she will learn to appreciate them both in her life.

Perrette previously shared on Twitter a photo of her and Camil on the set of Broke. She also replied on Camil's tweet that thanked her for agreeing to work with him.

CBS has ordered Broke to series for the 2019-20 season. The multi-camera comedy was also from Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder, and Will & Grace and Modern Family executive producer Alex Herschlag.

Broke marks Perrette's first series regular role since she left NCIS in May 2018. After she exited Mark Harmon's series, Perrette claimed that she was the victim of "multiple physical assaults.' The actress did not give any specifics about the assaults but said "a very rich, very powerful publicity machine" has been keeping her from speaking up.

CBS confirmed that the actress came to them with a workplace concern and they took the matter seriously. The network vowed to have a safe work environment on all of its shows. In return, Perrette thanks CBS for supporting her.
