Girls' Generation At A Verge Of Split, Three Members Decide To Leave SM Entertainment

Tiffany, Seohyun, and Sooyoung of Girls' Generation are reportedly leaving the group. SM Entertainment recently went to the girls for the renewal of the contract but unfortunately, the three girls refused to sign it.

According to the reports, the girls have their own preferences and plans for the future and hence they have taken this decision. The 28-year old, Tiffany will leave South Korea to study acting while the other two will focus on their acting careers.

"Girls' Generation is a precious and meaningful group for us and for fans," said a representative from SM Entertainment while talking to media. Clearing the air they said, "Even though they have decided to shift their focus but that doesn't mean they are thinking of disbandment.  However, since there are members whose contracts have been terminated, we will discuss the future direction of Girls' Generation with the members and make a careful decision."

Girls' Generation recently released their sixth album "Holiday Night" in August to celebrate their 10th anniversary in the K-Pop industry. Needless to say that Tiffany and Seohyun have already released their solo albums. In October 2016, Tiffany also collaborated with Far East Movement for their album "Identity". Sooyoung and Seohyun are also familiar names of Korean television shows and the latter has also appeared in multiple musicals.

Girls' Generation made their debut in 2007 with nine members but later Jessica Jung left the group due to scheduling conflicts. The group rose to the fame with their album "Gee" in 2009.

Till date, the album is known to set a benchmark in K-pop industry and considered as the leader in modern Korean bubblegum pop trends. Girls' Generation also saw two albums appear on the Billboard 200 over the years, and "Holiday Night" also made it on the Billboard World Album Chart.
