After the success of musical series "Glee", horror anthology "American Horror Story", and horror comedy "Scream Queens", Ryan Murphy is setting out to expand his reign on television through another genre. Reports claim that Murphy is set to enter the police procedural genre with a new television series.

According to a report by celebrity blog Perez Hilton, Ryan Murphy will soon be unveiling a new show tentatively called "911" which revolves around characters and situations involving calls to the emergency hotline. Once again, Murphy will be embarking on the new project with his constant collaborator Brad Falchuk.

A report by Deadline indicated that Ryan Murphy is currently eyeing casting for the lead role and he is strongly leaning towards working with "American Horror Story" cast member Angela Bassett. The series which is set to air on Fox will reportedly have a similar format to the long-running medical drama "ER. It can be recalled that Bassett was also part of "ER's" final season cast.

If the deal pushed through, "911" will be the third straight to series order that Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will get from Fox, following "Glee" and "Scream Queens" which are both targeted towards a teenage demographic. This proves the network's trust in the creative abilities of the duo as well as their collaborator Ian Brennan. The new emergency drama is expected to have a midseason premiere and is said to be awaiting Fox's official announcement.

Aside from "Glee," "American Horror Story" and "Scream Queens", Ryan Murphy also helmed the anthology series "American Crime Story" and  "Feud" which revolves around the famous rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford on the set of their movie "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?" Ryan Murphy also co-created the series "The New Normal" which ran for one season on NBC.
