Matthew Perry Explains His Role In The 'Friends' Reunion; Jennifer Aniston, Cast Spotted With 'The Big Bang Theory' Actors
The "Friends" reunion is definitely happening through NBC's upcoming special "Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows," which is set to air on Feb. 21. However, Matthew Perry, also known as Chandler in the famous TV show, is definitely a no show.
As previously reported, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt told the press (via Entertainment Weekly): "I'm hoping all six will be in same room at same time; I'm not sure we can logistically pull it off."
Now, "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki posted a photo of him and co-stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Simon Helberg with the "Friends" cast Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. All of them are part of a two-hour tribute comedy director James Burrows, as reported by TV Line.
Perry is currently MIA because of his commitment to the play "The End Of Longing," which he wrote and will star in at London's Playhouse Theatre in February.
In an interview with Graham Norton (via NME), the actor explained his role in the reunion.
"It's not true [that we're all getting together]," he said. "It's not the Friends reunion that everybody's hoping for. They're celebrating Jim Burrows, who was a director of Friends and the five of them are going to be on this special and I'm going to introduce them from here because I'm doing the play here so I can't be there."
For now, the Chandler actor's eyes are focused on his play in London.
"Being on stage makes you feel naked. Being on stage in a play that I have written will make me feel doubly naked. So if you'd like to see me doubly naked, tickets go on sale today," he said in a different interview.
Meanwhile, Perry is also linked to former co-star Courteney Cox after her one-year engagement to Snow Patrol band member Johnny McDaid has been called off.
The previous on-screen couple was spotted talking in a sidewalk café, as reported by The Inquisitr. And as expected, many "Friends" fans were raving about this fantasy couple on social media.
Matthew Perry is still anticipated to be seen along with his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer in the upcoming "Friends" reunion, leading only an introduction rather than appearing in the scenes.
